The ALLICE Collective envisions a future where all individuals thrive mentally, emotionally, and socially by embracing the strength of community, recognizing that true growth and healing come from uplifting one another.
Wisdom & Worth
Youth Wellness Initiative
Wisdom & Worth empowers youth in 6th - 8th grade through creative arts, wellness activities, and personal growth workshops. These experiences help them build confidence, manage stress, and express themselves in meaningful ways. Youth gain practical skills that enhance problem-solving and communication. With a focus on community, the program nurtures a sense of belonging and leadership, equipping them to make positive choices and build strong relationships that support their growth and success.
All participants receive free breakfast, snacks, and transportation* (if needed) to reduce barriers to attendance and ensure access for all.
The program ends with a celebratory Sneaker Ball, where all youth who participated have a chance to showcase their creative arts projects to family and community members.
*Transportation available for youth within a 5 mile radius of the community center.
Upcoming events.
At The ALLICE Collective, our events are all about coming together and supporting each other’s mental well-being. We create warm, welcoming spaces where people can connect, share their stories, and find strength in community. We know that having a solid support system makes all the difference—when we feel connected, we’re better able to handle life’s ups and downs, reduce stress, and thrive.

COMMUNITY & MENTAL HEALTH
Community is vital for Black mental health. It provides the support and understanding we need, making us feel connected and empowered. With people who relate to our experiences and resources that fit our needs, we can tackle challenges together and support one another.
Having strong social bonds increases the likelihood of survival by 50% more than those with fewer social connections. (CDC, March 2023)

“The ALLICE Collective has facilitated an excellent space within the Breakfast & Brotherhood meetings for Black men from various backgrounds come together in community and discuss our various and collective struggles. I’ve met some amazing people while having incredible conversations along the way. 5 outta 5 all the way!!”
“Learned about the women’s group, hosted by Dr. Allison, through an acquaintance and I’m very happy to have given the service a try. It’s relaxing to be able to come together amongst a group of women of varying ages and lifestyles and just exist, have meaningful conversations about sisterhood and connections, and still have the respect factor and peace.”
“Highly recommend! Absolute Godsend! Very knowledgable and thorough! I am a current grad intern and while working with Dr. Bates, I have learned more about counseling than what was taught in school. She challenges you, teaches you and is always willing to help. I encourage all interns to apply to work with her!!”
